Designed and crafted to bring both function and architectural detail to the living space, this bespoke media unit combines clean-lined cabinetry with warm timber detailing and beautifully integrated lighting.

The full-width media wall has been designed as a seamless piece of fitted furniture, maximising storage while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic. The handleless, flush cabinetry creates a clean uninterrupted appearance, allowing the proportions and detailing of the furniture to take centre stage.

At the heart of the design is a generous recessed area for the television, framed by carefully proportioned open shelving. Concealed storage below and above provides practical space for everyday items, keeping the room visually uncluttered.

Bespoke Open Shelving with Integrated LED Lighting

One of the defining features of this installation is the collection of bespoke oak floating shelves, individually crafted to fit the architecture of the room.

Each shelf incorporates warm integrated LED lighting, concealed within the timber to create a soft wash of light across the surrounding walls. The lighting adds depth and atmosphere in the evening while also providing subtle illumination for displaying books, artwork and personal objects.

The combination of natural timber and warm ambient lighting creates a particularly inviting contrast against the neutral painted walls.

Designed Around the Existing Architecture

The shelving has been carefully designed around the room's existing features, including the windows, radiators, skirting and architectural mouldings.

Rather than attempting to hide these elements, the design works with them, creating balanced sections of open shelving while maintaining clean lines throughout.

The result is a piece of fitted furniture that feels architectural and intentional, rather than simply being furniture placed against a wall.

Seamless Storage & Minimalist Detailing

The main media wall uses a restrained, contemporary approach with flush doors and handleless cabinetry. This keeps the large expanse of furniture visually quiet while providing substantial concealed storage.

Open shelving is strategically introduced to break up the cabinetry and create areas for displaying decorative pieces, books and artwork.

The careful alignment of doors, shelving and cabinet divisions demonstrates the level of precision involved in creating truly bespoke fitted furniture.
